HDD states 1.99Gb when 6.4Gb

Repartitioned disk to FAT32. Windows 98 and Fdisk state only have 1.99Gb when have 6.4Gb. What've I done??

You made the first partition Active, then you should have made Extended Dos partitions with the rest of the drive, then you should have formatted each partition. If you don't do fdisk correctly, it won't show all of the HD. If you partitioned it, and you formatted the C: drive when you were done, go back to fdisk, hit #4 and see what it shows for info on the partitions. If they are all there, format D:, E:, F: etc, but not C: or you'll lose whatever in on C: Bruce
auto detect your hdd in the bios and then run fdisk delete all partitions restart the computer with a fat 32 boot disk and then create a new partition using the maximun space on the disk then restart your computer boot off the fat32 boot disk and type format c:/u/s and then install your o/s. email me to let me know how you get on
