Subject: HDC Error/ invalid System Disk

Comment: I have a fairly old Toshiba lap top (P 200 MMX Win 95) that gives me "HDC Error" on startup and "insert system disk". However, when I insert the 95A or 95B disks that I got from 'bootdisk.com', I get "invalid system disk". I left my original system disk on the other side of the world and don't know what to try next... any suggestions? By the way, shortly before it crashed for good, I got a 'missing file' message (didn't write down which file because I are stupid :) so do you think it might not be a hardware problem?

Reply: (edit)i suggest that you have a drive controler failure. a new harddrive may be in order. as to the bootdisk failure, you have to go into the bios and change the 1st boot device to floppy drive.
