Whenever I try to re install Windows 98 SE it gets through the first 3 steps and then It keeps on giving me this Error Message:

W98 Setup Failure in SetupX.DLL at 0002:56FF
and then it says USER.exe at 0001:40B6

Any help you can provide would be great, I am anxious to get this old computer back up and Running. Thanks.

What cpu and how much ram is in the machine?

You may need to remove and then repartition with FDISK and then format it before attempting again.
