Hi, I have weird problem with my computer, Only with the sound after I install windows or a new big program or hardware, I will get the dreaded blue screen and or freeze or restart by it's self when playing a song wav and mp3's people told me that it could be the ram, but I took some out and worked now that does not help any more and i use to take out the processer and put it back in worked for a while to, My computer even sometimes will restart over and over again right after seeing the bios screen, and sometimes while the computer is on a vibration will even restart it, Like moving the desk the computer is on or someone walking on the wooden floors I found out there is a bios test screen (dell embedded diagonostics) when hitting reset a few times while starting the computer up and I got a bunch of errors, Here are the errors
1'st speed jumper Determination
Test: Speed jumper Determination
Failure: System Board Failure
Cannot Determin Speed Jumper Setting Correctly2nd Primary Cache Subsystem

Incorrect Data Written Back From Secondary SnoopThose are all the errors and and all the errors began when I got my computer upgraded about 6 months ago, This is A dell computer pentium 180 over drive 32 megs of ram 1 meg of video, Does those error signs mean alot or does anyone know what they mean? I think they mean the processer and the ram have a problem..Please let me know..Thanx Adam

You have a loose connection, or maybe a bad motherboard. It's unlikely that BOTH the RAM and CPU have gone bad.
Based on your error messages, I'd recommend you replace the motherboard-good opportunity to upgrade to an Athlon and some PC100 DIMMS (or 133) also.
yeah, it's the motherboard-make sure all your chips are seated properly, but I'd reach for my wallet on this one.

Before I reached for my wallet, I think I'd reach for the power cord. If you disconnected it when you did your upgrade, it's possible that now you have a bad connection. Try another cord, or inspect the seating of your components. Especially the ram, motherboard, etc. One last thing you can try is disabling the 'sleep' modes and keyboard driven 'power' modes. And one final thing to look for is dust. It can create havoc. These things are certainly cheaper than a new motherboard. When I was troubleshooting equipment at a nuclear power plant, our philosophy was...all things being equal, the simplest explanation was usually the right one.
