Your A drive has gone bad! THis is a classic failure...so I bet 99% it is a failed drive. Good news. New A drives only cost about $12.
Its easy to open your computer and install a new one. Just make sure that you take note of the RED line on your A drive cable and make sure that the RED LINE (PIN 1) is aligned properly with your new drive's PIN 1. Depending on manufacturer, the position of Pin 1 on the drive can be in the same position as your old one or reversed. SONY and MITSUMI make the best, PANASONIC is good too...NEC has or had a problem, so stay away from those brands. YOU CAN DO IT TRACEY! Its an easy and cheap fix.

You will get that message if there is a disk in the drive when you boot up.

Right, it will say Invalid System Disk, but the A drive WILL NOT REMAIN ON CONSTANTLY...a Constant A drive seek means only two things...Pin 1 is not installed right on the drive or the drive has gone bad.
