I had to format my hd then installed dos then win 98. Win98 only recognizes 2 outof the 6 gigs. When I went through fdisk and i have one partition that is fat 16. Whats the best way to fix this and not lose everything again. Should I convert to fat 32 through windows. BTW it said it might take hours???

You can convert it to FAT32 but it will still only be 2 gigs. You could run fdisk again and create a second partition to use the remaining space (be sure to use FAT32).
If you just want one partition, then you would basically have to start over and remove and recreate your partition to use all of the space. Of course you would lose all data on the drive this way.
