I have my computer plugged into a power strip, and i accidentally turned it off while my computer was on. When i turned the computer back on, it took about 5 minutes of trying to detect to tell me there was a Primary Hard Drive error. i then used a boot disk and found that my hard drive (which was partitioned into 2 drives) had somehow un-partitioned itself and erased everything on the drive. I tried to run FDISK from the dos prompt, and it gave me an error. I also ran a virus scan but it says the only files that are there are from the boot disk that i used. Please respond here or email me repsonses. Thanks.

Gosh That Sounds Scarry`
Just A Tip..Press The Key Delete At Startup. In The Bios Screen Auto Detect Your Hard Drives..
Your Bios Might Need A Reset..
Good Evening

i've had that happen to me before... probably all the data on the hard drive (both partitions) is in tact, you just need to go into the BIOS setup (usually by pressing when prompted, sometimes
,) and find the section with drive information, and configure the drives. you may have to consult your manual, but all you basically have to do is configure your drive for autodetect. if you want, you can reboot and have the info entered manually by the bios. hope this helps

Everything these guys say is true....
HOWEVER...in your attempts to figgure out whats going on....DO NOT INSTALL ANY APPS OR FILES OF ANY KIND ONTO YOUR HD...
Do everything from the A:\ drive...
Go to Powerquest.com and look for their file recovery ...
There are other recovery software, I have used some...I had a similiar problem but had a head crash on my notebook HD...it made some sectors of my HD unaccessable...but with a couple of the software recovery tools out there I was able to get most of it back...If you need more names, email me...
Good Luck Steve
