half-life crashes

I am running a 5oo k6-2, voodoo3, 64 MB RAM, and a FIC mainboard...
When I run counter-strike, i can sometime play for a while and other time , it wil crash before i can connect to a server. Has anyone had a similar prob?

of course check and see if there is an update to hl or an answer that matches your problem in the faq's for it,,
also update your bios on the mother board and modem and vidio and sound drivers and and etc... as they may have fixed the problem you are seeking in them...
but one thing I have found that affects some more complex games is a small memory timming problem,, try in the cmos setting the ram to faster/slower or more/less stop bits or what ever they are labeled as (is the same thing),, many smaller less complex programs will work ok at less then optimal settings for 'your' system and may only show up on 'some' complex games,, and memory may be needed to be set faster or slower then it is labeled as to match 'your' system...
