Not a virus, just a webpage creator being stupid. 2 ways to fix. (assuming creator was stupid, not malicious)

1. in IE, goto TOOLS, OPTIONS, PROGRAM, then select RESET WEB OPTIONS.

If that doesn't work, then try to allow IE to repair itself. (2nd option)

2. goto ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS. select UNINSTALL IE. This will pop up an options box. Select REPAIR IE. With this, IE won't be uninstalled, it'll just look for and try to repair altered or corrupted files back to its original installed state.

Hope it helps

I just posted a question for the same problem before seeing this post.

I tried both options above and neither one of them worked. Still greyed out!

Mine was hijacked my cnet.com after downloading a software program that was 3rd party.

Here is the solution:

Start>run>regedit>H_KEY_CURRENT_USERS
THEN go to
Software>Policies>Microsoft>Internet Explorer>Control Pannel

THEN in the right hand box
you will see "HOME"
Right click on "HOME" and choose the option to delete.
After deleting press F5 (this will refresh your registry) close and restart your browser.

You DO NOT have to restart your computer. Now it will be fixed!
