Hey guys. Thought I'd ask somewhat of an odd question but its one thats been bugging me for a while.. I have a geforce fx 5200 with 128 megs of ram.. Now what I'm doing is conecting it to the TV just to do some gameing or wathcing a movie etc etc... Yet for some reason my TV displays the image thats from the computer in a strange way.. It displays it almost box like.. Its an eyesore with certain things like games and such.. Is there a way to somehow stretch it to the tv screen? Also if it helps I'm haveing to use an S-Video adapter from s-video to just a simple RCA video output...

Is your TV 16:9 ratio? If so then it is because computers are 4:3 so there's not much you can do about it.

Your TV remote will probably have a button to change the ratio but this will increase the width so that everthing will be rather fat (wide) looking. You might still prefer this.

I hope I have understood what you meant by "box like".

Hey Ghostly21 and Derek,

"Is your TV 16:9 ratio? If so then it is because computers are 4:3 so there's not much you can do about it."

Not necessary true. IF the vid output from puter to TV is 16:9, then it will look like letter box TV. I would verify the output settings for your video card output to TV. It probably has the ability to go either 4:3 or 16:9. I know my ATI all-in-wonder has this ability anyhow.

If the house catches fire, SAVE the computer!!

Interesting info, I've obviously got a bit out of touch with video cards.
