Hi Mesich!

Thank you for the link. Without the benefit of the previous post, I was halfway through typing up the answer to 'Search and Destroy' any Spyware. You had already given the right directions in the original post about the same topic!

Thanks, but unfortunately this hasn't solved the problem. I downloaded the fix from Symantec and it did not find the Trojan. Anyone suggest an alternative?

Log file below

Deleted the value "NameServer" from the registry key
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\MSTCP".
Deleted the value "EnableDNS" from the registry key
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\MSTCP".
Deleted the value "Domain" from the registry key
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\MSTCP".
The default value of the registry key
"Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL"
is set to "".
The value "HostName" of the registry key
"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\MSTCP"
is set to "Administrator".
Trojan.Qhosts has not been found on your computer.

Hi Paul, MaadhuriMN, hi everyone,

Paul thanks for posting back with the results and a link.
Was it the host file that was the problem?

Best Regards,
Mesich

Thanks for the assistance. It was the hosts file which I have cut out the dodgy bits.
