does anyone know if the google toolbar that you can download as an additional toolbar add any third party software when installing, or any other unwanted crap.

None at all.
Although I don't have the tool bar installed
as the google hompage loads up in about one
second with dial up.But from a previous thread started by another
member I did do a litle research on it.Google is an excellent search engine and is based on usage not who pays to get listed first. I've use it often.
To read their FAQ, copy and paste this link in your address bar.
http://toolbar.google.com/faq.html#historyWhat you can not do from the tool bar is
delete selective searches from the menue.
But you can delete all of them from the bar. From their home page search you can open up
the drop down menue then use the scroll arrow
key on your keyboard to highlight previous searches then use the delete key.But however you go it is safe and a good search engine.
I just wish you had a forum name that was easier to remember.
Glad you came here though.
have fun.

I keep hearing about deleting previous searches on the Goggle site, but I never see any dropdown menu. You are talking about on the site are on your IE browser?

Hi Deke,
On the Google toolbar that can be added to your browser there is a list of history in the dropdown menu.
It can easily be removed by selecting the small down arrow just next to Google.
This will give you another menu and you can select Clear Search History to remove everything from the dropdown menu.Mesich

If you never went into the Google preferences and chose to have it save your history then there won't be any drop down bar for the history.
I would also like to say this: The last time I used it I had IE6 on my machhine and no matter what I did I could not get it to install. It kept telling me I already had it installed and I just had to go find it on my computer.
It turned out they had a glitch with the toolbar and it did not work on anything over IE5 versions. Maybe they have fixed it since then.

There is a nice alternative to the Google Toolbar.
You will find the links from within this post:

As you can see I added the searchbar and add on. I have since added it to an F key so I can keep it hidden until I need it. Also I have about 15 search sources on the highlight and right\click feature of the add on. One great little utility.
