Hi,
I have an older motherboard. It's a GB-Board with the Intel 440LX PCI Chipset on it. The current Bios version is 4.51PG. As I searched the Gigabyte homepage they do not have a really new Bios for my board what I need to get my 60 GB HDD running. With the newest Bios available from Gigabyte a 60 GB HDD isn't supported. I don't have any idea what I can do. Please write me any suggestions. Does anybody know of a Bios that supports my Drive and my motherboard?

Your newest BIOS version for this MOBO can be found at this URL: http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/support/intel440ex.htm#link6ea. Unfortunately, it’s from 4/20/99 which means it probably will not support a 60GB HDD.
As I’m sure you are aware, BIOS is very important. Bad BIOS means a dead MOBO. And DEAD is DEAD!
I suggest you consider a PCI IDE adapter card. It has its own BIOS that will recognize the larger HDD. The card will may also support ATA 100 or ATA 133. Even with an updated BIOS, your MOBO IDE wouldn’t do that.

You should find an 'overlay' program on the hard drive manufacturer's web site that will allow you to overcome the Bios deficiency.
