Exact reporting of error messages is very important. Blah blah doesn't help very much.

Working with the Registry is serious business. Do so at your own risk.

Recommend making a backup of it first.

The Registry keeps track of all the software and hardware installed on the computer. After installing and uninstalling programs, the Registry can become corrupted.

To do some maintenance/upkeep work on the Registry, the scanreg command is available:

Click on Start>Shutdown>Start in MS-DOS Mode.

When C:\Windows> appears, key in:

scanreg /fix
Press: Enter.

A message window should appear informing whether the registry was repaired.
Press the Enter key to acknowledge.

When C:\Windows> appears again, key in:

scanreg /opt

The prompt C:\Windows> appears again.

To get back into Windows, key in:

Exit

Hi there
You might want to try swapping out the memory too. We run into this same error quite often where I work. I've found that the usual culprit is bad memory.

That is some description of an error message, intrinsically, and gramatically!!

Anyone have a crystal ball?
