do this:
1 - do a search of " *.pwl " files on your c drive (windows directory)
2 - delete any that show up
3- restart windows
4 - when it asks you for a windows password, leave it blank and hit ok
5 - you're done

This doesn't work for me.
All that happens is that I still get that crappy password screen, and then the password is nothing. Stupid Microsoft bulls---! This isn't even a real password feature anyways, its only a user profile saver! if i'd have know that i would not have set it up in the first place . damn it.

Those instructions didn't work for me either. I now get a Welcome to Windows login ID & password screen. Any help in REALLY getting rid of password window is appreciated.
