when i close ie4.01 down and go to hit the start menu to close down my computer i get a general protection fault in module mmsystem.dll@0004.00000662. it only does it when i shut down, any answers

john, mmsystem.dll is a multimedia system file. you may want to try using add/remove
in control panel to remove all mulimedia
devices and then install them again. also
try uninstalling/reinstalling your soundcard
drivers.

I DON'T HAVE ANY SOUND ON MY COMPUTER AND I TRIED TO DOWNLOAD SOME FREE SOUND CARDS AND I CAN NOT DO THAT, IF YOU CAN PLEASE ANSWER MY QUESTION. IT IS HOW DO I KNOW WHAT SOUND CARD TO DOWNLOAD? AND HOW CAN I GO ABOUT DOING THAT?
