When I play Star Wars, the phantom menace, i get to the first screen, then after about 10 seconds, the mouse freezes up, then a couple of seconds after that, the sound quits. nothing works and have to reboot. It does this the exact same way every time. It worked fine before, but now it quit. I have VIA 4 in 1 drivers installed, latest drivers for everything, rain for CPU cooling, no viruses, VXD fix done, no conflicts, RAM is not bad. Please help me.

Re-Installing did not fix the problem, however, I went to DxDIAG and tested direct3D. Software test went fine, but Hardware accelerated test locked up EXACTLY like the game does, so it must have something to do with Direct3D. Could it have something to do with the 4 in 1 drivers that I recently installed? I know I have played the game with them installed before I formatted cause of a prob on my computer.

Presumably you have the correct or later version of DirectX installed, as required by the game and your video card drivers. Check under the Files tab in DXDiag to see if there are any problem files. The last time I updated my DirectX version, the install was reported as successful, and DXDiag said that I had the updated version, but I had problems with my video card. Eventually found that the updated files had been installed into the Windows sub-folder "VCM". Used SFC to transfer the files to the "System" sub-folder and all was fixed.

I have checked all the files, no probs. The thing I cant figure out is why it quit all of a sudden. I would like to fix Direct3d
