Also, under display properties, the area to change the megapixels is all greyed out and is on a default of 640 x 480. Please help!! I just bought this :(
Hi, Not sure on Win95,but on 98 if you right click on your desktop a menu will come up. Click on properties. Choose settings. At the bottom left of the window it says (extend my windows desktop onto this moniter).Put a check in the box. Take a look,it may be the same on Win95. -T-
Hi again, Didn't see your second post. When you install the OS windows loads the default driver for your vid card. You need to install the correct driver for your video card.
Go to the Device Manager (right click My Computer/Properties/Device Manager)/Display Adapters and see what adapters are listed, if it's using a standard one, uninstall it, and choose an SVGA one.
If you have only the one your using now, change it
Right click on desktop/Properties/Settings/ Advanced/Adapter/Change/
click next and select "Display a list of all- Show all hardware" and select a another svga one. If there are none there, you will have to go to the manufactors site, as listed in above post...
Win98 is the better choice anyway. Darksea hit it right in # 3...you need to get & install the proper drivers for your video. Did you get driver disks with it? He also mentioned IBM...did I miss that? Regardless, if you don't know what video you have, try downloading Aida32 to help identify your hardware...Im not sure if it will work without drivers being installed though...but it's worth a shot. Once you video is identified, just do a search for the drivers, download & install....
