Comment: I finally got the OS installed WIN 98 SE Now after a few minutes of general use all the icons turn white and if I mouse over anything on the lower bar they turn white as well. The PC basically stops responding and a restart is needed. Here's my PC setup. All new items MB- ASUS P4T533-C Pent 4 533mhz 2.26 GH Ram RDRAM 800 512MB Video Card (AGP) PNY Verto Geforce Ti 4400 128 DDr Ram ASUS CD-Rom Lite-ON CDR Maxtor 60gig HD Win98SE Nothing is overclocked. No conflics noted in the Device Manager. What causing this problem? Any ideas or suggestion? Ideas?

Reply: (edit)Sounds like a video problem. Did you install the latest drivers for your card? I had a similar problem once. Run a scandisk and re-install windows 98se.

Reply: (edit)yeah, that sounds like a video problem, maybe a windows problem. Try and find updated drivers for your video card, and also run a scandisk from your Command Promp because windows scandisk is unrelyable. And if your still haveing the same problem then reinstall your Win98se

Reply: (edit)That video card pops up in a number of postings if I recall .... cheaper to try the Windows VGA driver to confirm if it is the adapter at fault.
