What does it mean when my monitor says frequency over range and won't let me see anything. It's a sylvania. Is it the monitor or computer.

acctualy it's your refresh rate try lowering it's frequency (i.e 100 Hz down to 85hz) or until it's seems right look up your monitors tech sheet to see it's maximum range.

I have the same problem with a W98 and Viewsonic. Called Viewsonic and they said they'd never heard of the problem. They had me change the color scheme on my computer, but it made everything more fuzzy and less sharp. I changed it back. Any suggestions?
