freezing mouse

mouse locks up on me for a few seconds or could be computer locking up being i cant use the mouse but the games and programs i am useing stop i thinking it computer i would be glad of any help thanks

It's possible that your CPU is too busy at times to service your mouse movement.

Is there a lot of hard disk activity at the same time?

Are you using a laptop?

Do you use file sharing software like Kazaa or something like that?
