Freezing CD - RW CD

I formatted a CD - RW and put music on it, but each time I put it in my drive to play it, it plays the music, but it freezes my computer. Even though it plays on my computer, it wont play on my CD - RW compatible CD player.
I have Hewlett Packard Burner, using Imation cd-rw disc. I have windows 98, AOL 7.0, with a Gateway computer. 64 MB memory Pentium II Telepath 56k Modem

Does it also happen with CD-R discs? (They're better for making music CD's)

CR-R's are better for music and CD-RW's are better for data. As well, make sure you save the music CD so it is compatible with most CD players. You may have alos recorded the music at too fast a speed for it to be picked up properly.

I cant get to do anything else with it because it freezes my computer as soon as I put it in. I'll try the CR-R's instead.
