Does anyone know of a good, tiny, reliable freeware program for Windows 95 that will reside in the system tray and function as a "minimize all windows/show desktop" button like Win98 and every version of Windows since has? I did a Google search and the only programs I found were either ones that cost money or ones that seemed a bit too sketchy to chance. Thanks.

Thanks for the tip, but unfortunately I'm running Win95 on an old Thinkpad 560x and it doesn't have a Windows key.

Number one, don't ever forget again that the "Show Desktop" shortcut is always in your System folder for just this use. I've a novel idea, let's just use it. So go to the C:\Windows\System folder and copy the "Show Desktop" shortcut to the C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch folder. Was that too easy?

But this will only work if the Desktop Update has been applied in Win95. To apply it, just reinstall ie 5 and it will be auto selected for installation provided you have IE4SHL95.CAB file in your IE installation cab files folder. Often that file is NOT there on Win95 machines and it's not available where Win95's IE can find it anymore unfortunately. The above link is the same file BTW, it was just moved to a new place since support for 95 is just bones on the prairie at this point.

If the shortcut mentioned in #4 is there, copy it to desktop and assign a key; like ctrl-alt-d.

If at first you don't succeed, you're about average.
