Hi everyone,

I'm back ...lol

Seriously, several months ago someone on this forum gave me the link to a handy-dandy, small but highly effective 'email stripper' program.

Unforunately when my Packard Bell running Win95a went to computer heaven a few weeks back the link to this great little tool went with it. I am now trying to find it so I can use it on my WinXP Home computer as well.

I have searched Google but can't seem to find this version.

All I had to do with this program was take whichever email I wanted to strip down, paste it into Email Stripper, strip it and then copy and paste it into a new email.

Any ideas of where I can find this program again?

Thanks and regards,

Phil

Hi jboy,

Thanks for posting. The program you gave me the link for is not the one I had previously used. Although it seems to be a good one too.

The one I had installed before was similar except all I did was copy the email that needed stripped, pasted it into the email stripper, let email stripper do its thing, copy the finished product and then paste it into a new email.

Thanks and regards,

Phil

Hi gdivens51,

Thanks for posting.

The 'papercut.biz' link is the same one jboy posted and the http://www.download.com/3000-2144-7737216.html?tag=lst-0-1 link doesn't seem to be well liked by any of its users.

However, 'stipmail' located at http://www.dsoft.com.tr/stripmail/ is aweful close to the one I was using before my computer died on me and I had a chance to save the link.

Thanks for taking the time to post.

Regards,

Phil

Hi jboy, Derek.W and all,

Wow! Almost like old times.

Me 'picking' your minds for something mine has forgotten ...lol

You don't have to lose any sleep over this one. The link jboy provided should do the trick in case I can't find the other one.

I just have to wait for a "forwarded - forwarded-forwarded" email to check it out...lol

Take care and both of you have a great weekend!

Thanks and regards,

Phil

Yeah, nice to see you here again.

In fact that #6 does work offline after all. You just save the webpage then click on the .htm file (or a shortcut to it).

Requires a bit of copy/pasting but might be handy for something or other.

Poking about led me to revisit this fine list of software recommendations - and the accompanying page (which includes StripMail)

Can't have too much software

Hi Derek.W,

Thanks for the update on your link. It looks pretty easy to use too.

I don't get too many forwarded > forwarded > forwarded emails but when I do these email stripper program make it super easy if I want to send it on to someone else.

Thanks and regards,

Phil

Hi Bryco and all,

Good to see your name on the 'screen' again especially when you are supplying answers to my questions ...lol.

I now remember that the link you provided back in June 2004 is the site I went too to get the EmailStripper program I had been using for the past several months.

The program the link displays now doesn't look exactly the same as the one I previously used but I am starting to think the one showing now is an updated version of the one I had been using.

Regardless, I appreciate you taking the time to try to help me recover the Email Stripper program I originally used.

Thanks and regards,

Phil

Picky, picky, picky!!!

Ok, you want a copy of the one you had before. The one that is free and a standalone program.

Alright then, geesh.

EmailStripper.exe Just right click on the link and select "Save target as" to get a copy.

I'll take it down off of my webspace once you have a copy.

Just joking on the remarks of course.

Bryan

Hi Bryco,

Got it! Thanks for posting the link. I am almost sure it is the same program I got about a year ago. It has changed its 'looks' but the same simple features are still present.

Thanks for taking the time to get it to me. You can take it off your webspace anytime you feel like it.

I bet your glad I had to move up to WinXP Home ....lol

Seriously, you, jboy, Derek.W and several other regulars of Computing.net are actually responsible for keeping my old Packard Bell that was running Win95a up and running for the past three years. My son-in-law had it for about five years before he gave it to me. It definitely had some 'time on line'.

I just hope you all are frequent visitors in the WinXP forum too because one thing is certain ... I'll be there ...lol

Thanks and regards,

Phil

Actually you did me a favour. I have use for that link I found and also the file that Bryan posted (now downloaded).

I might see you on there but tend to only jump in when posts are not XP specific.

I have taken the program off of my webspace. Thanks for letting me know.

I got a new computer in early March with WinXP Pro SP2 installed on it but I visit several forum pages at Computing.net daily.

I contribute where and when I can.

Best regards,
Bryan
