Why yes, there actually is a way to get the drivers you need from the internet! First go to your motherboard or system manufacturer's site and download and install 98 drivers for the on-board hardware. Then for what's left you can open up your computer and google the model number or chip info on any cards that need drivers. Or you can download something like SIW:

http://www.gtopala.com/siw-download...

or Everest:

http://www.oldversion.com/Everest-H...

and run them to ID the unknown hardware. For everest and maybe SIW you need to use an older version for 98. Personally I prefer to open the case and examine the card.

I am not able to connect to internet, no driver for dial up.
The computer is for my mom, basic and only able to dial up.
I use a Dell E521 with Vista. Is there a way to link the two computers so my computer can assist in fixing the other ? I run hi speed on my computer .

Is the computer in question an OEM like Dell? If so, go to their website and download the drivers and burn them to disk or just place the network driver on floppy disk to transfer to the Win98 computer.

If you need help finding the drivers post the brand and model or if custom built the motherboard model.

Yeah, you don't need to use the 98 PC to download.. Use the one you're on now to download everything and copy to floppies or cd-r.

You're posting these questions so you're obviously on the internet already. Find the drivers, download them, copy to a thumbdrive or CD, then install them on the other PC.
