Just read about those other hidden folders
inside "Temporary Internet Files" folder.
I used to think I knew how to find those hidden folders before.Inside Windows "View"
"Folder Options" and then go to MsDos, change
the attributes on the folders. But now---- went to the suspected folder ---- "View" "Customize this folder" and then removed the customization. Bam --- there they are. Check it out. You still might need Dos to delete the index.dat files.

Hi sr2owens, hi everyone,

Have a look at Delindex.bat

Search for tons of threads on this forum (and ME as well) as Ren Man and SMUOD are members of Computing.Net (and I am the translator for the French version of delIndex).

Have a good day,

There is an easier way to find those files and a few more. Go to the Run box and type winfile.

This will bring up the old W31 style File Manager (complete with truncated short name format).

Now have a look in temporary internet files (tempor~1) and you will find the true picture. Windows Explorer tells you what MS either wants or thinks you want to see.

Look also and see how different things are in:
c:\windows\downloaded program files.

If you want to work on things in DOS winfile can be quite useful.

Re #3

You will need to delete the space after www.f

rinsitah had to add it otherwise this site won't print it.

Re #3

That's the exact site/file which got me started on building my purge.bat file. Huh, small world. ;>)
