Comment: I have tried and tried to format drive c. It will not do it. It stays on 0% forever. I have a wiped cleaned computer and trying to install windows, and of course you have to have a formatted drive, sooooooo...how so I go around windows setup and format it myself. ( Already tried in A: format c: and some others that did not work.)

Reply: (edit)You don't have to format the drive to install windows. If you don't format you will save everything and just refresh the windows files.

Reply: (edit)Use a boot disk for the O/S you want to install, and boot with that. When you get the A:\> prompt, type in; fdisk choose Y, then choose option 4. What is listed under TYPE and SYSTEM? Use ESC to exit out of fdisk.
