I formatted my win95 and was gonna install win98 but I think it deleted the drivers or something but it wont read my cd-rom (D drive). Also when I try to install the drivers from DOS it says it needs the file MSCDEX.exe and can't find it in my dos subdirectory. Any help would be appreciated. THNX

If you've formatted the hard drive you shouldn't have a DOS (or any) directory - yours must be a unique installation method.

Here's a guide - you may require a bootdisk as well (with CD support included)

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

The Win 98 disk worked because the Win98 boot floppy includes DOS drivers for the CD drive. Drivers which include MSCDEX.exe.

The Win95 boot floppy did not include these drivers by default and you had to insert them yourself.
