How do I restore my fonts folder so it does not act as a normal folder, and contains only the origional win98 default fonts. I also need to restore the system fonts. Also my ttf s don't display. I'm on W98SE

1. change the view option to large icon. 2. once the fonts are installed, they are in the folder physically. if you don't want them then you will have to delete the fonts (or move to another location). 3. don't know why your tff files would not display.

This happened a while back to my wife's computer. Your file that tells it what fonts are in the folder is probably corrupted. Windows rebuilt it with only your basic fonts. I drug some of the fonts to a different directory. This removed them from the folder. (Do not use system fonts..use something that will not mess up your system if it is gone.) That may cause the file to be rebuilt then. Anyway, click on add a font in your font folder, have it look where you copied the fonts, and click the box to move them back into the font folder. This caused windows to rebuild the file, and there were the fonts again. Win98 has TWEAK program, and it is on the cd, or download it. It has a repair font file' function, but it did not fix the problem. Tweak is neat anyway, so you may want to install it. Kerry
