Ok, please don't laugh. Well ok, if you do don't tell me about it. lol (look there I go doing it at myself) Some how, thanks to my kids my task bar now displays "My Computer", "My Documents", and A lot of other files I have made on my system. This was done when I was running Win ME. I since upgraded to Win XP and it is all still there. I have not found a way to take them off of the task bar. Any ideas?

Christyc, If those icons are to the right of your Start button (quick launch area) and you're sure that they are indeed left over shortcuts(right click them and click properties to check) you should be able to right click them and click Delete to send them to the Recycle Bin.

They might have done something as simple as right clicking the mouse and selected show desktop in the toolbar when the seelction box opened. You might check that out by right clicking the mouse in the taskbar area and then see what is selected in the toolbar by left clicking it.

No, no quick launch. They cover the whole taskbar area. I tried the right click thing but nothing was out of the ordinary. However I am on my way to check out that link.
