Is your virus scanner set for autoscan at bootup to check the floppy drive? If so, disable it and this should stop the floppy from running as such.

Several posible reasons.
1) do you have any shortcuts in either your start-up folder or on your desktop that are pointing to a file on your a: Drive? If so you need to delete them.
2) check your documents folder off your start button and see if any of the files listed there were on your a: Drive. If so then this is the problem. To resolve the problem go to c:\windows\recent folder, where you will find a listing of all your recent files, delete the one which is from a floppy.

One of these should resolve your problem. If not please e-mail me at mntucker@puritanquartz.com and I will work you through it.
