Floppy Drive

My computer often checks the floppy drive for prolonged periods of time for no explicable reason. Each time it causes the computer to slow down...how do I stop it from checking it all the time?

My computer does something like that also. It usually does it right when I boot up. I just put a floppy disk in, and it stops. I don't think it's ever done it more than twice in the same session. Try it.

First, in Device Manager/ Performance/ File System/ Floppy, Make sure there is no checkmark in "check for new floppy drives". Also, some older Anti Virus programs are constantly checking the floppy drives. Al
