Comment:
I mashed the button to eject my floppy drive and the button went all the way in, so I opened the front of my computer and the button had came off. How can I fix it? Also now it keeps saying it can't read a disk if I make it go in there and I have to open the front and put it in there because other than that it won't go in. I need help!!

New floppies are very inexpensive! Used are almost given away.

It's very likely that you will need to replace the floppy drive - pretty easy to accomplish and not too expensive. It may be possible (once it's out) to fiddle with it and maybe glue something on to replace the button - prob'ly not worth it, but you could try - although other bits could have gotten mashed, too.

walmart has new ones for under $20 just make sure you unplug the power before taking off the case. remove the screws holding the floppy drive make a note as to how the wires are attached, attach the new one. replace the screws. put case back on ,plug in . boot up ,if the floppy drive light stays on the ribbon cable is reversed.
