When I bootup the text flashes on and off, and I've been unable to load windows normally. I can get into safe-mode, but the graphics are showing different color lines and dots or none at all. It could be anything except the psu, since I replaced it. How do I find out what component is acting up? thanks

It sounds like you have a video card (adapter) problem. If it's a card, try reseating it.

It's probably not the monitor, but try swapping it, just to be sure.

Do yourself a favor BACKUP!

I'll second Hams diagnosis of video card. I'll also add, reseat the ram while you are inside the case.
