I think this is the right spot to post, so here it goes:
I'm trying to use a SD (SanDisk 1.0GB) through a card reader (SanDisk ImageMate 12 in 1) after booting with an OEM Win98 boot disk. I added USB support with the following CONFIG.SYS entries
devicehigh = USBASPI.SYS /v /u
devicehigh = DI1000DD.SYS
devicehigh = USBCD.SYS /d:USBCD001The problem is that it doesn't pick up the SD card as a drive. It will, however, pick up a CompactFlash card in the same reader.
I'm trying to use SD cards to store images of machines for work. The PC's are wierd embedded types with no drives and very few ports.Is there anyway to use the SD cards (CF's are like twice the price - I'm on a budget)
Thanks

There's some info here about USB dos setup.
The USBCD.SYS line looks to be for an external cdrom. If you don't have one you probably don't need to load it. If you do have one you'll need a corresponding line in autoexec.bat that loads mscdex.

Alright found an answer to my own question. Thought I'd post it for everybody else.
After 6+ hours of scouring the net and trial and error this is what I came up with:
CONFIG.SYS
device=aspiuhci.sys /int /allAUTOEXEC.BAT
GUEST.EXEThese are just the relevant lines. Both are Iomega drivers. I was able to read and write to my SD card through the 12 in 1 card reader as well as access a USB stick at the same time. Also worked for a CF in the reader. However it'll only pick up one card at a time in the reader. That is when I had both the CF and SD card in the reader, only the CF was available. Was a little buggy, though. If I booted from the floppy by a restart in XP and didn't disconnect the reader, I got a Drive not Ready when I tried to access after booting from the floppy. However, if I disconnected the reader after BIOS started and before the drivers were loaded it worked fine
All I've got to do is test it with the mach's at work
Thanks to Bootdisk.com for the files and most of the info.
