If the flash drive is plugged in and you system's drive letter don't change arbitrarily - I would think, you ought to be able to do that from the send to folder.

meaning do disrespect but, either i don't understand you or i didn't explain myself correctly:
i want to be able to take files from say "my documents" and send them to the flash via the send to feature, just like sending to the floppy drive. Thanxs for your help.
Sorry about the example being from XP, i do not have my win98 system online

edit: I want to be able to left click on the file and use the send to button to go to the flashdrive.

I do not have access to a '98 system as we speak, but XP even does it better - the moment & so long as the "flash drive" is plugged into the system, the "flash drive" is added to the "Send To" context menu.
However, the above shouldn't change much of anything - if at all. What I was trying to have you do from my earlier response wss simply, open explorer on your '98, and drag the (drive letter) flash drive into your "Send To" folder - it should be as simple as that.

Connect the flash drive, open Windows Explorer, right click the drive letter, and drag to the "send to" folder in Windows. Select "create shortcut here".

Oh thank you very much i now understand....
