Hello Friends!
I've been wondering about my USB Flash Drive.
In Windows XP, it is automatically detected and ready to use.
But in Windows 98 (SE), it searches for driver, and since I have no internet access on some computers that I use, I'm not able to use my USB Flash Disk.

Usually the drivers are either packaged with the drive - or on the web-site for the drive (which you say you cannot access on some PCs).
Since you can obviously access the www - here... - use this same (or any other web-capable) PC to download the drivers; save to a flopy and/or a CD; then use that floppy/CD as the "source" to install the drivers to your '98 system? You can also copy them from that "source" to the hard-drive on the '98 system and then provide/install them from there?

Most currently sold flash drives don't have any Win98 drivers available at all.

These seem to work pretty well (since they appear to be "siphoned" from WinME--one of the few good thing about that O/S was USB support...):

If a drive is available for the stick then best to use that driver. If not then try the mass storage device driver.
Appears the price of the flash drive is hand in hand with accomanying drivers. Cheap stick = no legusy drivers. Couldn't find any drivers for the GenX stick but it appears to be a cheapo.

You can always boot a light Linux liveCD to transfer files. BartPE CDs sometimes work too. I use this often to rescue files as 9x support dies out.
If the computer is too ancient to boot the CD, Smart Bootmanager can be loaded to the hard disk to support CD booting.
