FIX-IT caused an invalid page fault

Comment:

The following error has just started to appear when I attempt to run any of the utilities within my "FIX-IT Utilities 2000".
It has been installed on this computer for almost a year now, so I don't understand why it would only be starting just now.
I have already uninstalled any recently installed programs in order to see if it might be due to a conflict between them and FIX-IT, but with no success.
I then uninstalled and reinstalled FIX-IT (without reinstalling the recently installed programs mentioned above), but (again) with no success.
Could someone please help me by sheding some light on exactly how to interpret this VERY cryptic error message (what does it mean, and does it contain enough information to be able to track down what is causing the conflict)?

Thanks in advance,
Brad.

***** UPDATE: *****

The version of Fix-It that I was running was 2000, but I just uninstalled it, and installed 3.0.

I can't say that it runs faster and much smoother, because it produces the following NEW error message when I try to use it:

**** NEW ERROR MESSAGE ****

FIX-IT caused an invalid page fault in module KERNEL32.DLL at 0177:bff7b9f5.

Once again, could someone please help me by sheding some light on exactly how to interpret this NEW (but still) VERY cryptic error message (what does it mean, and does it contain enough information to be able to track down what is causing the conflict)?

Thanks (Again) in advance,
Brad.

***** NEW UPDATE: *****

I ran the "Windows System File Checker" (sfc) in order to restore the original KERNEL32.DLL file from my Windows CD (as suggested by another outside source), but now instead of seeing the new error message ("FIX-IT caused an invalid page fault in module KERNEL32.DLL"), I am now back to the old one ("FIX-IT caused an invalid page fault in module MXTO.DLL").

Once I saw this happen, I immediately uninstalled and reinstalled FIX-IT 3.0 (expecting to return back to the new error message), but now I can't even seem to return myself to whatever new environment was created by switching to the newer version of the application.

Once again, could someone please help me by sheding some light on exactly how to interpret the ORIGINAL error message (what does it mean, and does it contain enough information to be able to track down what is causing the conflict)?

Thanks (Again) in advance,

Brad.
