I have the same problem as #3, and #7, but cd-rom works. It happens every time I shut down the system. It says that ANNCLIST caused the error to kernel32.dll
any help would be a big help.

The annclist.exe from #3 is a program that sends announcements for some program that was installed. I just solved it for someone. Just run msconfig, there should be an item on the startup tab called announcements or something like that. Uncheck it, press ok, restart the computer.

For the original message, try this. Oh, never mind, that was a YEAR AGO. Doesn't anyone moderate this group? This is a mess!

My computers problem is the same as "ALL" the above. Can someone please explain what to do to fix this problem?

Some kernel32.dll problems are related to a corrupt password file. Check the URL below for a fix.

I had the ANNCLIST problem as well. Mine was caused after I installed the Microsoft Critical Update Software. Once I removed that, the problem went away.

Thank you Wesley Fredrick!
I was wondering what was calling Annclist that was giving me Exception OE and Invalid Page faults in Kernel32.dll when I boot up. This is what I have found: Annclist, on my system, is located in my tv viewer directory which, I assume is installed from win98 cabs when you install the TV Viewer for Windows in the Add/Remove Programs in the control panel under Windows setup. I had to install this when I installed my 3dfx Voodoo 3500 TV AGP video card. This is how I fixed my problem, like Wesley did, I ran msconfig and removed the check next to Announcements, which was calling annclist.exe. I havent had my problems since. I still have Microsoft Critical Update installed on my system and it didnt matter what pwl I was using. Conclusion: Something to do with the TV applications. Hope this helps, it did me.

Try this:
I included another common solution to dos driver probs too.
Illegal operation - EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in

module KERNEL32.DLL

This behavior can occur if a Control Panel extension (.cpl) file is damaged.

To resolve this problem, determine which .cpl file is damaged, remove the file, and then reinstall it. To do so, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files or Folders.

2. In the Named box, type "*.cpl" (without quotation marks).

3. In the Look In box, type "c:\windows\system" (without quotation marks).

4. Click Find Now.

5. Double-click one of the .cpl files. If the file is damaged, an invalid page fault occurs in Kernel32.dll. If an invalid page fault does not occur, repeat this step with each .cpl file until an invalid page fault occurs. The file that causes the error message to be displayed is the file that is damaged.

6. On the File menu in the Find window, click Close.

7. Delete or rename the damaged .cpl file in the Windows\System folder.

8. Open Control Panel to verify that it is functioning properly.

9. Extract a new copy of the .cpl file you removed in step 7 from your original Windows disks or CD-ROM.

Illegal Operation error

An Illegal Operation error message can occur you are not using 32-bit (protected-mode) file system drivers. The setup program is designed for Microsoft Windows and requires 32-bit Windows file system drivers.

To resolve this problem, enable the 32-bit Windows file system drivers by following these steps:

1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

2. Double-click System.

3. Click the Performance tab.

4. Click File System.

5. Click the Troubleshooting tab.

6. Verify that the "Disable all 32-bit protected-mode drivers" check box is cleared. If it is selected, click it to clear it.

7. If the "Disable all 32-bit protected-mode drivers" check box is not selected, your computer requires new 32-bit file system drivers. Contact the manufacturer of the computer about obtaining new 32-bit file system drivers.

To determine the file system in use on your disks, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

2. Double-click System.

3. Click the Performance tab.

4. If your disks use 32-bit drivers, the status for File System reads "32-bit." If the File System status reads "Some drives are using MS-DOS compatibility mode," the computer is not using 32-bit file system drivers for all disks in the computer.
