anyone knows if there is any way to have win 98 1st edition be capable of handling firewire hardware? is there any drivers on the internet?

If you have a port on the back of the PC that supports firewire, then the drivers should be available. See the settings for the USB ports on your motherboard and see if it offers firewire support.
