For me I like Firebirds truley free status. Opera uses the annoying banners unless you buy. Whose seriously going to buy a browser when theres free explorer, netscape, and mozilla out there. I thought of 2 types of people who would buy it, stupidly rich people and those that qualify under the status of "a fool and his money are soon parted".

Free free free... and open source. Firebird is also the best browser I have tried. I love the tabbed browsing and plugin support for things such as mouse gestures etc etc.
Of course the best , and really only way to tell, is to try them both for awhile. Nothing suits everyone.

Firebird is still in beta version, although it works great mozilla says not to depend on it as your main browser untill it's version 1.0 I use both browsers they both have they're strong and weak points.
