finding bios and installing win98

i cant find bios in an elderly ibm thinkpad 365xd and when i try to install win 98 it restarts after copying files and comes up with a screen saying please insert a boot disk what do i do
Try holding down the Escape key while turning on the laptop. Also check on IBM's website for that model and download the latest BIOS version (instruction on how to upgrade will probably be on the website).
The other problem (Win98 boot request) ??? Have you got any other CD's or maybe a Win95 install (just to see if it boot up with that OS - Have you done a full scandisk on the laptop HD ?

Go to ibm's site and look for a LOT of support there.
Bios on these machines in generally entered by doing this:
Start with the machine SHUT OFF. Hold down the "F1" key, and WHILE STILL HOLDING it down, turn on the machine.--the bios settings should appear. They are prett simple on these machines, and if I remember correctly, the hd's are pretty much auto detected--you can however change the boot sequence.
