I would recommend that you purchase a CDRW drive. They are so cheap now that sometimes after rebates they cost only $20. The reason I recommend this is to perform backups on your computer. CDR media is also very cheap and once you get into the habit of backing up you will appreciate it. I keep a couple of disks full of drivers and utilities that I use to help others and it sure saves time, even if they have internet connection, which usually, they don't because something is FUBAR. Just a thought.

You can use WinZIp and created a Zip file spanned ocross multiple disk. You then unzip this files to the other computer into a single file.

I think you will need Win ZIP on both computers. I dont know if you can create a self extracting Zip file across multiple disks but you can try.

Hi Bill, Stuart, OtheHill, hello everyone,

What information are you trying to retrieve using Aida32?

I ask because another option may be Belarc Adivors which will fit onto a floppy.

Best Regards,
Mesich

Bill, Other helpers!

I think, because of language problem, sometimes it is hard for some of us to understand what exactly Bill is trying to convey through his posted messages. :-( Please, no offence meant:-)

Since this is part of an ongoing troubleshoot in another thread it could be all the more confusing to many readers!

The downloaded JSplit is a .zip file that needs to be unzipped. The Response# 15 in the ealier thread, 150573.htm has already given details about Zip/Unzip utilities.

Once JSplit is unzipped two files will be displayed:

1.JSplit.htm
2.JSplit.exe

Click Jsplit.EXE to start the Splitter Program window.

Under Select file to split: , there will be an empty rectangular box and to its RIGHT edge an opened Folder icon with a curved arrow. Click the Folder icon.

In the next window click the down arrow head of Look in box and navigate and locate AIDA32 from the folder it is saved in your HDD.

Click AIDA32

Next Click the Icon to the right of Save pieces in folder: box

Select A:\> drive from the next window's box

Click the Split button and follow on screen directions to save the split files to the required number of Floppy Disks.

Insert the diskettes to the sick PC and start recreating AIDA32 using the floppies in the order they are created.[#1 First and so on] and the on-screen directions will help with that.
HTH:-)

Hi everyone,

And yet another option would be to unzip the files from Aida32 then remove the ones that are not necessary such as the language files.

I have done such reducing the size to 1.33MB.
If you are interested in this approach, let me know and I will post a list of the necessary files.

Best Regards,
Mesich

Or just use WinZP. Right click on Aida32 to ceate a file call a:\Aida32.zip.

The will then be an option on the WinZip dialouge to span disks. The Multiple Dosk Option os only avalable when zipping to a floppy.
