the max file cache was highlighted...i am using 560mb of ram....im just wondering how all of you would adjust your max file cache or if you would at all...my system doesnt freeze much...usually when i run dragon naturally i may get some probs..other than that its a fairly stable system...i know ..if it aint broke dont fix it? or if it aint broke dont break it? hahaha

It would certainly appear that you have placed an upper limit on the file cache, which is amazingly low.
Do Start > Run > System.ini
Scroll to the [vcache] section and delete the line
MinFileCache
and replace the MaxFileCache line by
MaxFileCache=512000
Save, exit and reboot
The above now allows Windows to fully managed the cache, BUT restricts it to a maximum of 512MBs. Win9x has potential issues if the cache can grow above 512.
Do these adjustments, and you should see a noticeable difference in performance.
