file associations (how to change)

ok i used to know this and i know its very simple but i have since forgotten how to alter the association of files
dont ridicule me for this but i would like my memory refreshing (its all the mind bending drugs i used to take that has trashed my memory)

If you want to change a general file type association (like a jpg. for example) click a jpg file, hold down the SHIFT key and right click it...this will bring up a box with your file assocaitions.. If you want to change, for example, what app plays your mp3s you can do the same..

Just left click on the file to hi-lite it, then hold your shift key down and right click on the file. This will give you the "Open with" option from which you can scroll down and select which program you want to open this type file with, then put a checkmark in the "Allways open with" small white box and you're set to go. Hope this helps.
