when my computer boots up their is an error that says that file allocation table for drive C: is bad. I what can I do to fix this problem

Does it start up at all?? If so, make a boot disk, and if not make a boot disk from another computer. Boot up your computer into DOS with the disk, and run scandisk on C:. It should fix the problem. If it can't fix it, you may have to reformat...
