favourites dissapearing

a freind of mine has noticed that all the links in her shared folder have dissapeared, exept ones that she has added in the last couple of days. all the links are still saved in c:\windows\favorites the new and old ones, but still, only the newest ones show. Can anyone please help? Thank you in advance

You didn't mention what browser you're using.

Search for the file bookmark.htm

Using IE:
this contains the listing of favorite links that can be imported through the "File" pulldown menu.

You may find a few instances of this file.
