I lost all my folders in my favorites that started with the letter A

Hi, Look in some of the folders below the A. You might have moved it without really meaning to as you were managing your favorites.

Hello, If you right click the start button and select explore and open the favorites folder, are all your favorites located there?

They have gone missing. I did a scanreg /restore without any luck. No virus, crapware or hijacks all the rest of my favorites are intact - really odd.

Have you tried the start/find/find all files and folders on the C:drive?

Your favorites should be here: C:\WINDOWS\favorites
Go there and visually look using Windows Explorers.
If they have been deleted by some way, you might still be able to recover them.
Use the computer with the deleted files as little as possible. Deleted files will get overwritten, the more it is used. Then recovery will be all but impossible.
Download Restoration (save it to a floppy not your hard drive). Run it from the floppy. Read the Readme.txt file. When you open it, make sure it is set to the correct drive (C:\ is default). Click the Search Deleted Files Button. It takes just a little time for that. Then when Do you want to scan vacant clusters? comes up, click Yes. This takes a long time. Don't touch anything until it finishes. Then look for your files among the list. If they don't show up - they are gone.

Hello sekirt, I ran restoration without any luck in finding the missing folders. It would have been great if I had the download sooner - time and usage was against me:-(
Thanks for advise, the tool and your time!
