Howdy, Well its not easy to say what is causing your problem or how the problem came about. You sound card could have gone bad, your sound drivers could be corrupt, you could have a bad stick of memory or a virus. There are to many things to list. My best advice is to take it to a computer tech in your town and see if they can figure it out. If you have added any new memory remove it and see if the problem goes away or have your current memory tested.

Laters,

Kevin The Tech Dude.

I Havent got an OE error I have an OD error.
When WIN 98 starts up just before it go to the login screen it crashes with a Fatal Exception Message Which I Believe Reads:
OD 16E7:000013b
I'm not 100% sure this is the correct message as im using a college computer to ask you.

To the troubled person and others getting the
fatal exception 0E, I used to get those on a
home-built PC that used an old chassis for a
new Pentium motherboard, and it turned out to
be heat-related. The fatal exceptions went
away when I took off the cover, thus
providing the CPU with better ventilation.
Hope this

I brought Carmageddon 2 some time ago from TARGET and for the first few months it worked just fine. Then...one day it came up as a fatal exeption error on a blue screen with white text. so i reinstalled carma2 and it was fine. BUT....then it did it again so i deleted it and left it unplayed for months.
It is my favorinte game so i took it to a computer shop where it got a new 44x cd-rom, formatted hard disk and all the games were tested. so i took it home and they all worked the first time but the second time carma2 came up with a fatal error OE and GTA2 came up with "illegal operation" the fault was a "invaled page fault" along with some numbers that mean nothing to me.
it is not the vidio card or the hard drive or the CD-ROM so i am stuck. help would be gratly apprecated! thanks

Windows 95...98?
Here's what I would do.
1. Delete cookies and tmp files
Start / find / files or folders.. named *.tmp
Go to Edit...select all then hit the delete key
Start / find / files or folders.. cookies
open cookies folder
highlight index.dat
go to Edit...select invert selection then hit the delete key
2. Run a thorough Scan Disk and Defragment your hard drive
If this doesn't help
3.Repair, Uninstall/Reinstall Browser.
4.Uninstall/Reinstall ISP Software
This is prbably caused by a corrupted .tmp file, .dll file, of a .vxd file
