two words my friend: hardware conflict. this happens alot with 95, when you reinstall. First, go into device manager (right click my computer and click properties) remove the ide controller from device manager and close the dialog box. when it reboots, go into your bios instead of booting into windows. check your bios settings and make sure the controller is enabled there!! now shut off your pc and take out some of the cards (modem, sound, and cdrom drives, all the ones not needed to boot the pc) and reboot. i betcha 20 bucks it finds it now!! Now, shut down and reistall the cards one at a time and you should be okay, unless that pc has run out of irq's, dma, or i/o's (doubtfull on that last one) or, you can e-mail me if it doesnt work |
