Hi all,
I had window 95 troubles so I reinstalled it looking for corrupted files from the cabs on my hard drive. Now the secondary IDE controller is disabled. When I try to enable it I get a fatal exception error OE at 0028:0000009(I think its that many 0's). I have a Pioneer 2x DVD and a HP rewritable connected to it and would really like those to work.

Thanks

two words my friend: hardware conflict. this happens alot with 95, when you reinstall. First, go into device manager (right click my computer and click properties) remove the ide controller from device manager and close the dialog box. when it reboots, go into your bios instead of booting into windows. check your bios settings and make sure the controller is enabled there!! now shut off your pc and take out some of the cards (modem, sound, and cdrom drives, all the ones not needed to boot the pc) and reboot. i betcha 20 bucks it finds it now!!
Now, shut down and reistall the cards one at a time and you should be okay, unless that pc has run out of irq's, dma, or i/o's (doubtfull on that last one)
or, you can e-mail me if it doesnt work
